Templates

How to create and manage the document templates your organization generates.

Templates

Use a template for one document type: a letter, decision, invoice, permit, confirmation, or form attachment.

Create a template

  1. Open the tenant where the document belongs.
  2. Go to Templates.
  3. Choose New template.
  4. Enter a clear name.
  5. Add the information the document needs.
  6. Add realistic examples.
  7. Open the editor and build the document.

Manage a template

From the template detail page you can:

  • Create and edit variants.
  • Publish new versions.
  • Deploy a version to an environment.
  • Update the expected information.
  • Manage examples.
  • Choose the default theme and archival PDF setting.

Choose between templates and variants

Create a new template when the document has a different purpose, owner, or approval flow. Use a variant when the document is the same type but needs a different language, brand, channel, or layout.

Good practice

Keep names readable for business users. The technical identifier can stay stable in the background; users should recognize the document by its title and purpose.
