1.0.0Epistola 1.0 is now generally available.

/ Partner programme

One open service, several suppliers.

Epistola is deliberately not something you can only buy from us. Official partners host, implement and train — so organisations can choose who they work with, without giving up the service itself.

/ Partner types

Three roles in the ecosystem

The roles differ fundamentally, so we treat them separately. An organisation that fills more than one role combines the partnerships.

Hosting Partner

Runs Epistola for others

Operates Epistola environments for customers. The customer signs a single contract with the partner and needs no separate relationship with us.

Delivers
Hosting, operations and day-to-day support towards the end customer.
Gets
The right to host and operate Epistola, escalation to our engineers for deep issues, and the right to present as an Official Hosting Partner.
We ask for
The strictest requirements, because production runs here: demonstrable information security, periodic penetration testing and a software bill of materials per deployment.

Consultancy Partner

Implements and advises

Guides organisations through implementation, integration, migration and template conversion — usually alongside an existing case or workflow landscape.

Delivers
Implementation, integration work, migration, template conversion and advice.
Gets
The right to present as an Official Consultancy Partner, a listing in our partner overview, referral of incoming requests and roadmap participation.
We ask for
Demonstrable Epistola expertise and references from earlier engagements.

Training Partner

Trains users and administrators

Delivers training based on our course material, under their own name and at their own rates.

Delivers
Training for users, administrators and template authors.
Gets
The right to use our training material and the brand, plus an account on the online material for every participant.
We ask for
Trainers complete our train-the-trainer programme themselves; we also ask for references.

The ecosystem directory shows only organisations with an active agreement and publication permission, including every capability Epistola has confirmed.

/ Principles

How it fits together

The programme is designed to be followable by everyone involved: no revenue disclosure, no side deals, no exclusivity.

The operator holds the SMA

Whoever runs the environment enters into the source code stewardship agreement (SMA) — the organisation itself when self-hosting, the hosting partner for hosted environments. The end customer keeps a single contract and a single invoice with their supplier.

Settled on verifiable units

Partners contribute on the basis of units we can measure on our side — not on a percentage of their revenue. A price difference between partners therefore does not affect our funding, and competition benefits the customer.

Everything goes upstream

Whatever is built on request lands in the open-source codebase. No private forks, no exclusive functionality. Partners that build can also contribute in development capacity rather than in cash.

/ Official partnership

Becoming a partner

Partnership starts with a conversation about which role you want to fill and which organisations you serve. From there we agree the partner agreement together. Terms and contributions are set per role — get in touch for the current partner terms.

The brand is the boundary

Epistola is a protected trademark. Only organisations that have signed the partner agreement may present themselves as an official Epistola partner, so it is always clear who has made real commitments to us and who has not. The software itself stays free for anyone to use, partner or not.
